Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa

Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa is the adults-only half of the Hyatt Inclusive Collection's twin development on Playa Esmeralda. It opened in August 2025 with 500 suites, each with a private terrace or balcony, and is reserved for guests 18 and over.

If you know Secrets from Punta Cana or Mexico, the format is familiar: Unlimited-Luxury all-inclusive with à la carte restaurants, bars, a spa and a romantic, couples-focused atmosphere. What changes here is the setting. Instead of the busy Bávaro strip, you get a long, quiet beach in Samaná Bay with mountains behind it and noticeably less sargassum than Punta Cana's east-facing coast.

Secrets shares the site with the family-friendly Dreams Playa Esmeralda, and the two are linked by a village-style public square. Secrets guests can use facilities at Dreams, which adds restaurant variety, but Dreams guests can also come over, so adults-only applies to Secrets' own spaces rather than the whole complex. If you want a completely child-free environment, check the current sharing policy before booking.

Being new is a plus and a minus. Rooms and pools are fresh, but any resort in its first seasons is still training staff and fine-tuning restaurants, so read the most recent guest reviews before you book. The resort is about 1.5 hours from Punta Cana airport, and there is nothing to walk to outside the gates; Miches town is a short taxi ride.

Easy excursions from here: Montaña Redonda for the views and swings, and the Laguna Limón horseback and boat tour. Compared with Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana, you trade a short transfer and nearby nightlife for a much quieter beach.

Best for: couples, honeymooners and adult friends who want a polished adults-only all-inclusive away from the crowds. Not for: travelers who want nightlife off property or a short airport transfer.
