Wyndham Garden El Morro Montecristi is the most conventional hotel in the north-west: a modern, chain-branded property on Autopista Duarte at kilometer 1.8, on the edge of Montecristi as you drive in from Santiago. If you want predictable rooms, reliable air conditioning, a pool and breakfast after a long drive, this is the safe pick in a town where most accommodation is small and family-run.

Facilities, according to Wyndham, include free breakfast and Wi-Fi, free parking, an outdoor pool, a gym, a restaurant, a garden, a coworking area, a business center and a meeting room, laundry service and a 24-hour front desk. Pet-friendly rooms are available for an extra daily fee, which is unusual in this region.
