Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort

Marriott Miches Beach is the resort closest to Miches town, on Playa Arriba just east of the center. The property has had a few lives: it opened in December 2022 as the Temptation Miches and Temptation Grand Miches adults-only resorts, which closed in January 2024, briefly carried the Sunrise Miches Beach Resort name, and was then refurbished and rebranded into Marriott's all-inclusive collection, reopening under the Marriott name in early 2025.

The current concept splits the resort in two. A family section has a water park and entertainment for all ages, and a separate adults-only section is for travelers who want quiet. Roughly 400 rooms were open in 2026, with more planned. For Marriott Bonvoy members it is one of the few ways to earn and use points at an all-inclusive in this part of the country.

The location is the big difference from the Costa Esmeralda resorts. You are a short walk or ride from town, so you can step out for a coffee, a colmado beer or a fish lunch, and see the Miches that existed before the resorts. The trade-off is the beach: Playa Arriba is a working town beach with fishing boats near the center, darker sand and more chop than Playa Esmeralda, which is about 15 minutes' drive east.

Because the building is a conversion rather than a new build, expect some layout quirks from its earlier lives, and read recent guest reviews before booking.

The resort is about 1.5 to 2 hours from Punta Cana airport. Good trips from here include Montaña Redonda, the Salto de la Jalda waterfall and boat days from Sabana de la Mar.

Best for: Marriott Bonvoy members, families who like a water park, and travelers who want town access. Not for: anyone who wants the postcard beach right outside the room.
